Summer 1

It has been another busy and fun half term in Nursery. We celebrated the King's Coronation and became minibeast explorers! The children have learnt key information about minibeasts and even welcomed some into the classroom. The snails were fun to observe and the transformation of our class caterpillars to butterflies was amazing! Our visit from 'Wild Fangs' was a great experience for the children to see, touch and hold animals that we aren't lucky enough to see everyday.

Spring Term 2

Our 'Animal Kingdom' topic this half term was great fun and the Nursery children learnt about pets in our homes, zoo and farm animals. We also explored the special book 'Dear Zoo', learning new vocabulary to describe the different animals.

This half term our 'Book Club' sessions have also been a success and have allowed the children to get to know our different stories well.

Spring Term 1

The Nursery children have really enjoyed our Community topic this half term. They have learnt about the features of our town Welling and the special workers in our community who help us. It was also great fun walking to the post box to send our letters! The Nursery children have enjoyed making mini-books this half term and exploring new activities.

Autumn Term 2

This half term the Nursery children had lots of fun during their 'Celebrations' topic. They learnt about lots of current events: Halloween, Diwali, Firework Night, Christmas and birthdays. It was great fun making celebration cakes, playing party games and learning BSL actions to the rhyme 'Pat a Cake'. We continued to explore new books together and practise turn taking by playing group game

Autumn Term 1

The Nursery children have been getting to know their classmates this half term and making friends. They have explored their new classroom and garden, and tried out lots of new toys.

Nursery have learnt the rhyme 'Tommy Thumb' this half term. They made a handprint craft to help them remember each member of the family - Tommy Thumb, Peter Pointer, Toby Tall, Ruby Ring and Baby Small. The great work has been put on display!

Nursery have enjoyed creating a 'collage' of themselves. They have thought hard about each of their features. During the activity they thought about what makes them special.
