Teaching and Learning at EWPA

At EWPA we aim to provide a broad and balanced curriculum which embodies our philosophy of developing a strong growth mindset and co-operative learning skills. This enables all children to develop a lifelong love of learning; promotes the willingness to question and explore whilst developing resilience and the confidence to take risks in order to achieve the highest possible outcomes.

Our curriculum is based upon the Early Years Foundation Stage and National Curriculum Framework. At EWPA teachers work collaboratively to design learning that engages children in memorable experiences. Learning is focussed on linking learning to the real world, the community and immersion in quality experiences.

Our model of teaching and learning is centred around knowledge transfer through modelling, which leads to application of knowledge and skills.

Children’s individual learning needs are at the centre of all planning. Teaching sequences are developed and focussed on the ‘here and now’ to accurately match the development of our children.
